With the success of 2023 and 2025 Adventures races in the Izu Peninsula, we’re delighted to be bringing you a new location for Adventure Race Japan 2027. The 2027 event is suited both those who are relatively new to adventure races and to those hardened athletes amongst you who are raring for a new challenge.
Up to 100 teams of three will take on a two-day adventure combining trekking, running, and a range of physical and strategic challenges, all set within the breathtaking Japanese countryside. With two levels of participation, the race is designed to test highly trained competitors while also offering a demanding yet achievable experience for those seeking a challenge. The mountainous terrain allows for carefully designed routes that encourage teamwork, resilience, and determination across all fitness levels.

The adventure unleashes on the stunning trails of the Nagano Prefecture, where every stride brings a thrilling mix of gently undulating terrain, short steep ascents, heart-pounding descents, and weaving paths through lush mountain forests and open trails. Participants enjoy spectacular views of iconic mountains from several breathtaking points along the challenge.
Your performance during both days, together with your team fundraising, will be factored in to determine an overall event winner in both race categories. So do not despair if you are not the fastest team, there are other ways to be a winning trio!
