The Race

From the time the ancient Greek runner Pheidippides ran from Marathon to Athens to announce the Greeks’ victory over Persia in the Battle of Marathon, humans have been fascinated by endurance.

We have designed a challenge, suited both to those who are relatively new to adventure races and to those hardened athletes amongst you who are raring for a new challenge.

The race will take you along the Izu Peninsula, through the UNESCO Geopark area. The terrain is gently undulating in areas with some short steep ascents and descents via mountain and forest trails. Spectacular views of one of the world’s most painted mountains can be seen from several points along the challenge.

As this is a maritime industry event, it is only fitting to have a water challenge, such as kayaking or paddle boarding. There will also be obstacles designed to test your teamwork, innovation, and analytical skills. Your performance during all elements of the course will be factored in, so do not despair if you are not the fastest team, there are other ways to be a winning trio!
